Upcoming Decommissioning of Legacy DNS Country Pools
Scheduled for Nov 19, 09:00 - 10:00 CET
Scheduled
On Tuesday, November 19th 2024 at 8:00 UTC we will be conducting a scheduled maintenance to decommission the legacy DNS entries for our country-based IP pools, such as us.protonvpn.net

These DNS entries were previously used in some manual OpenVPN configurations, but we are now phasing out support for them to focus on the WireGuard protocol, where country-based IP pools are not possible.

To ensure a seamless transition, we recommend that all users update their router configurations to use the official WireGuard configuration files available on our website:
https://protonvpn.com/support/wireguard-configurations

These configurations will provide the optimal and most up-to-date connectivity without relying on the legacy country pool DNS entries.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, and we're happy to assist users with the transition to the new WireGuard-based setup. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact our support team.

Thank you for your understanding.
